          vs.

Unfortunately, the Week 2 Champions could not come back to defend their throne this week with injuries to Faisal Khan and Jibran Waqar (we wish them and everyone nursing any injuries a quick comeback).  With a slate of 5 brand new teams, week 3 looked to crown a new champion.  With the Legends sitting at 3 wins and the Mambas with 2, the final game of the night pitted these 2 teams against each other to decide the finals.  Both teams looked gassed and only mustered a low 4 points combined, with the Legends getting the win and punching their tickets to the finals.,

The Direwolves found themselves back in the finals this week but with a new team.  Captain and MVP frontrunner Bilal Ilyas finally got a chance to lead his team and wasted no time in drafting his buddy and super-sub, Umar Khan.  With his next 2 picks, Bilal wasted no time and quickly added more firepower with the additions of Hamza Rustom and Tabish Khan.  Unfortunately for the Wolves, that would be it for them as they would not have a 5th player and would be forced to play the night with no subs.  On the flip side, Captain Zahid Merchant went with another star sub player in Uzair MundaUzair hadn’t played in some time, but knowing how skilled and talented he was, this pick was a no brainer.  Ziggy proceeded to go with the all-around player Fahad Ilyas, Arif Iqbal (who has turned into a pretty decent mid-range shooter) and finally rounding out the team, Saoud RamjaunSood had to back out last minute and the league decided that Ziggy could replace him with his son Belaal Merchant, creating the first father son duo in league history.

The game started off with Bilal showing off his new go to shot, the driving floater.  Bilal would hit the first few buckets and the Wolves were quickly up 5-0.  On the flip side, captain Ziggy regrouped the troops and leading by example, was crashing the boards and hit a few big 3’s to bring the score closer.  With both teams tired, they left everything on the line this week.  After a few big buckets by both Uzair and Umar, the Wolves went into the half with a 10-5 lead.  Coming out of the half, the boys in blue had a game plan.  Crash the boards and get the ball to their shooters.  Arif was doing both, with a team leading 7 rebounds to go along with 2 big mid-range shots.  Ziggy kept his foot on the gas as well and finished the night with 3 3’s, however, the Wolves were out for blood this week and would not be denied.  With contributions from everyone, the boys in grey kept their foot on the gas.  Tabish was a monster on the night, driving hard to the net and finished with 3 big points, while big man Hamza was a dominant force all night.  Hamza fell 1 rebound short of the record with 10 rebounds on the night (Archie had 11 back in season 1) but added 3 big points as well.  With no sub all night, the Wolves finished the round robin as the top team after dropping their first game against the Mambas and finished off the Legends in the finals with a score of 17-11.  A high scoring game between 2 tough teams, the Wolves will look to repeat in 2 weeks, and based on what we all witnessed tonight, this could be the 1st team to Dynasty season 3.  We’ll see you all back on the courts in 2 weeks YoungBloods.
